The bravest thing I’ve ever done when nobody was watching was finally walking away from something I knew wasn’t good for me. No dramatic speech, no slow-motion exit, and unfortunately, no Beyoncé playing in the background. I just chose myself and kept moving.

That sounds simple until you realize how easy it is to stay somewhere miserable because at least the misery is familiar. I cried, questioned everything, and almost went back more times than I’d like to admit. But I didn’t, and that deserves a tiny parade. Sometimes bravery isn’t fighting a dragon; sometimes it’s blocking a number and actually leaving it blocked.
